Keep Dancing

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Inspired by the visit of one of Berklee African Scholars who came to Berklee in the Fall 2014, Betty Akidi,

"Keep Dancing" is the result of Betty's story of her life as a child soldier, and the desire to share a positive message of deep solidarity and authentic emotional sharing.

"Keep Dancing" is also the title of her first EP project, that she is currently recording.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A vocal folk track in sicilian dialect that tells an imaginary story of a girl from 50's who acknowledges she "needs to go see how it is" to live in America. Some thoughts about life written while she was planning to move back to America, an encouragement to "cross the river of ifs" in a society that forces us to build on our fears, a song for a friend as a reminder for everyone that we all are, someway, like lotus flowers.. this will be the content of her first EP.
